Well, it's not the What if of mine you used, but I'm working on the old farmer picture perfect, at least the character parts, I still gotta figure out the plot parts, so it skips over a lot of stuff like "The missing man, William McGovern, …" since I haven't quite placed my pen on the mystery behind the mystery yet...

Oh, and a lot of the old man's characteristics are kind of like Bill Dean's. ayuh they are.

Hmm, looks like my subconscious might be five steps ahead of my conscious. The missing character (William McGovern - who's been missing for over 20 years, and who my mind insisted was the guys name) turns out to be mentioned in one of my short stories from his childhood: http://www.bishopta.com/writing/Fall.htm

I think this short story might just be the mystery behind the mystery.

Am I becoming too influenced by King if I'm already subconsciously tying all my stories to the same world?

Hmm, found another interesting connection to it (note the opening for a SS about Old Man Chase in http://www.wordtrip.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6320 ). This might become a series os SS that are connected OR the start of a T. Allan Bishop world...

And I also realized that Carl is the name of a corrupt PI with limits in my murder mystery (Prick from a Black Rose's Thorn).

As long as you don't make it too blatantly obvious like King did in some of his stories. Some times he tried too hard.

I just realized my post in my personal blog about me writing a story should have gone in this blog, so I'm dusting off the massive number of cobwebs here to repost here:

So, I actually wrote a short story yesterday! I posted a description of it and a little of my dilemma of it in this entry in my blog: http://anblicksanamorphosis.blogspot.com/2012/05/put-pencil-to-paper-make-squiggly-lines.html
