*Sending positive thoughts MS's way!* I (obviously) don't know the details, but it seems like you've been betrayed by someone you've chosen to trust (with your heart?), which if is true, totally sucks. But there is a bright side, you'll find it once you examine it from the right angle! Very Happy

thanks anby - i have to admit i'm a bit dramatic sometimes - it wasn't as extreme as what you're guessing. it just seems like anything i look forward to - whether it's a job, a phone call, whatever - always seems to fall apart and i find myself disappointed. i try not to hope for anything or expect anything from anyone because people have failed me so miserably in the past but alas, i wear my heart on my sleeve and while the brick wall around my heart is in place there are places in which the cement is crumbling and the knives still draw blood.

We seem to have similar, yet opposite reactions. I tend to have similar feelings, but I wall myself in farther and tend to "test the waters" less. I have less faith that it can work out for me, so I close myself up more...

it's not that i don't try to withdraw but i'm such an outgoing person that even though i tell myself over and over to quit, i find that i can't. tomorrow is another day - between now and then i'll just remember to breathe. maybe i just need a good cry (and no, i'm NOT pms'ing)

I didn't suspect the PMS... I did suspect you were more outgoing and not the hermit crab like me...

i only said that about the pms because men (in general mind you) tend to assume when a woman is emotional or bitchy it's because of pms. i think it's usually because of the men themselves. Rolling Eyes

you can meet the nicest people and have very interesting conversations in the strangest places. i was in lover's package the other day and in my naivety had a question which i asked the sales girl. we struck up a conversation and i ended up talking to her about, well mostly about all the weird stuff in the store, but we had such nice conversation going that i ended up hanging out in the store with her for about 45 minutes. Shocked when i finally got ready to leave and paid for my purchase, she said she had really enjoyed talking to me. she was very sweet - i never thought i'd stay that long in a "sex" shop just chatting with someone i'd never met. it was definitely better than my last experience there when, as i was walking out to my car, some dork tried to hit on me. uh, hello??? My horoscope (or daily flirt) for today says:
It's a good hair day to say the least -- your good looks are sending out some powerful, magnetic energies. Take advantage of the attention you get. Work every room you walk into, and you'll leave them charmed and breathless. Shocked

Now how can I work that to my advantage? Twisted Evil

xcheck's horoscope:
Walk warily today the higher-ups have indigestion. They're just waiting to take it out on someone who looks sexy, hip and happy.

in case anyone cares - Pththththth - canada was nice. once i got home though, i had an onset of melancholy. no reason for it really - simply wondering what the heck i'm doing with my life. i'm "getting by" but i don't want to simply get by, simply exist, i want more. the most frustrating part is that i'm not sure what that "more" is. i do know i'd like to travel but unfortunately requires a) money; b) time; and to really enjoy myself c) a companion of some sort, whether male or female, friend or lover. short trips aren't so bad alone but there are certainly things/places i wouldn't go alone. vancouver, for example, has great nightlife and clubs if one were so inclined, but a single woman alone going "clubbing" isn't such a great idea.

now here's a sad thought - how long would it be before anyone knew i was gone if i simply disappeared. i don't have anyone i converse with regularly enough that they would notice if i went missing, my family isn't really all that close. i just spent three weeks without my kids and wondered, if i something had happened to me during that time, who would know? i suppose it's selfish of me to want someone to miss me because i'm sure i "ignore" people i should be more in touch with, like my family. maybe that's a goal i should make is try to be in more constant communication with the friends i do have so they don't ever feel like that. of course, most of them would never wonder about that since it seems all of them have someone living with them which means they have someone who would immediately miss them should something ever happen.
